Citi Handlowy was established as a result of a merger between Bank Handlowy in Warsaw – the oldest commercial bank in Poland – and Citibank (Poland) S.A. Thus, in March 2001, one of the biggest financial institutions in Poland was born, forming an integral part of the Citi Group, a global financial institution with more than 200 million customer accounts and operations in 160 countries and jurisdictions. Cafeteria

The Cafeteria is a package of various non-wage benefits offered at the employee’s choice on an on-line platform. Recharges are made quarterly and accumulated points can be exchanged for: paper and electronic vouchers to be redeemed during purchases in brick and mortar stores and on-line shops or services.

Sports card

The sports card enables unlimited use of sports facilities around Poland and on-line. The cost of the card is covered by the employee. It is possible to obtain a subsidy for the cost of the card from the Company Social Benefits Fund.

Life insurance

Employees are able to choose one of two life insurance policies – a basic one, sponsored by the bank, and an additional one, the cost of which is financed by the employee.

The basic insurance covers random events such as death, injury, inability to work due to illness, occurrence of a serious illness and hospitalization due to accident.

Additional insurance extends the scope of coverage to, among others, childbirth, hospital treatment, surgery, death of a family member.

Employee Pension Plan

The EPP contribution is paid in full by the employer at the maximum level allowed by law – 7% of the employee’s total remuneration. In addition, the employee has the option to declare their own contribution, within the statutory limit, to be deducted from their salary. PPE contributions are exempt from Social Security (ZUS) contributions.

Private medical care

Medical care for employees is fully funded by the bank. As part of the package each employee is provided with:

access to medical appointments and diagnostic tests
emergency assistance, home visits and a rehabilitation package
reimbursement of costs of treatment at any medical service provider within a specified limit

Summer Internship Program

We created this program with all students in mind, regardless of their field of study or the year they are currently in. The summer internship runs from the beginning of July to mid-September and is organized across various areas of the bank. During this time, you will gain valuable professional experience, working alongside a team of professionals and carrying out ambitious projects. Through numerous training sessions and meetings, you will also gain knowledge about the bank's operations, shared by our experts in their respective fields.

Citi Pride Network

Pride Network Poland is a Citi employee network that brings together and represents the LGBTQ+ community, as well as their allies and friends. Since 2018, the network has been promoting equal and fair treatment of LGBTQ+ individuals in line with Citi's various policies, supporting the professional development of our community members, helping to develop and maintain a culture of diversity within our organization, and encouraging participation in LGBT cultural initiatives. Members of the Pride Network strive to lead by example in workplace equality, share knowledge and best practices, and aim to create an environment where LGBTQ+ employees can feel safe and can make a full and meaningful contribution to Citi. The network has been recognized for its efforts with awards such as the EMEA Live Our Values Award in the Diversity & Inclusion category and the LGBT+ Diamonds Polish Business Award for the best employee network.

Citi Women Network

The Citi Women initiative has been active at the Bank since 2004. The network's mission is to create favorable conditions for women's professional development, help overcome barriers, and provide opportunities to fulfill their ambitions while maintaining a balance between professional and personal life. The network creates a forum for inspiring its members, sharing professional knowledge, best practices within Citi, developing soft skills, building a network of contacts, and promoting teamwork, regardless of gender. Citi Women pursues its goals through training sessions, mentoring, meetings with successful individuals, and team-building events. It serves as a catalyst for change aimed at attracting and retaining the best talent on the market and promoting women leaders at Citi.

Citi Disability Network

The Citi Disability Network is a space open to every form of disability — for employees, their loved ones, and customers. Within the network, its members shed light on the situation of people with disabilities — both inside and outside the organization. It is a space for discussing what we can learn from one another, how we can mutually inspire each other, and how we can share experiences — turning our imperfections into an inner strength. The network builds awareness, breaks down stereotypes, and initiates conversations about taboo topics. It also organizes workshops, meetings, and training sessions, promotes a healthy lifestyle and regular health check-ups, delivers mental health training for all employees, and supports Citi in being an inclusive employer.

Citi Multicultural Network

The mission of the multicultural network is to create equal opportunities for all employees regardless of their race and background. The main goal is to harness the benefits of the multicultural diversity we possess and increase employee satisfaction. The network organizes meetings with managers from various industries and backgrounds as part of a mentoring program, connects its members through a variety of events, and helps people discover different cultures and environments. Families Matter (Citi Parents Network)

Families Matter is an employee network about family and for family. Observing how many of us experience both the joys and the challenges of maintaining a balance between personal and professional life — as parents, children, grandparents, and caregivers of loved ones — the network's members support employees in all aspects of life, primarily by fostering a culture that ensures harmony between work and family life. Families Matter has been active since 2019 and focuses on supporting working parents, sharing knowledge, and organizing events for parents and children, including developmental workshops, to help one another face family challenges.
